General Support Policies

  1. Loss of in-game items
The loss of items will not normally be compensated. The sole exception will be when Reakktor Media GmbH or the Neocron Support Team have provided prior notification of issues affecting the game servers, in which case backups of characters may be restored. Direct compensation of items or in-game currency is not permitted.

  2. Loss of character related skill values in-game
The loss of character values such as skills and sub-skills, soul light, faction sympathy and faction affiliation will only be corrected after a Senior Gamemaster of the Ingame Support Watch team has verified the loss and linked it to an acknowledged bug. In extreme cases (e.g. a complete loss of values) a rollback of the character may be performed. All queries about skill values must first be submitted to the Helpdesk.

  3. Loss of character related skill values at events
There will be no rollback for character values lost during events, official or otherwise. It is the player's responsibility to ensure that only valid targets are selected. If in doubt the player should not take offensive action against NPCs or other runners.

  4. Using the email system within the CityCom terminals
The Email system within the CityCom is a messaging tool designed to enhance in-game communication between players and as such is not to be considered secure. Reakktor Media GmbH assumes no responsibility for private information (personal data, account information, passwords, CD-keys etc.) transmitted via this system.

  5. Restoring characters lost due to external influences
If one or more characters are lost due to external actions (e.g. by another player who had previously been allowed access to the account), they may be restored from backup at the discretion of Reakktor Media GmbH. In such cases only the characters will be restored. Items in apartments, the GoGuardian or the character's inventory will be deleted to ensure that duplication does not occur.

  6. Deception
Intentionally misleading or deceiving Reakktor Media GmbH or a member of the support staff in any way will result in a temporary, or in extreme cases, permanent ban of the game account or accounts.

Exploit Definitions

The following Q&A may help you to decide if your actions constitute an exploit, and if so, what action you should take. If you are in any doubt then please contact the Helpdesk.

  1. What is an exploit?
An exploit is the deliberate misuse of weaknesses or bugs in game features for personal advantage.

  2. What should I do if I find an exploit?
Contact a Neocron Gamemaster by creating an in-game support ticket. State the circumstances as accurately as possible and include as much information as you can. The Gamemaster may contact you if further information is required and will then forward the case to the development team. Under no circumstances should exploits be announced or otherwise discussed on the forums. Such discussion will lead to an automatic temporary ban from the forums for everyone involved.

  3. What happens to players that knowingly use exploits to the advantage of themselves or others?
Players that knowingly and continually use exploits have to expect a permanent ban of their Neocron account or accounts. A permanent forum ban will also be imposed.

  4. What should I do when I see other players using exploits?
If you encounter a player or players deliberately using exploits, please write an email with a description of the exploit, names of the people involved and any screenshots you may have taken to exploits@neocron.com. Your report will be handled with absolute discretion.

  5. Is there a list of known exploits so I can check whether I am breaking the rules?
For security reasons a list of existing exploits will not be published. If you believe you are using an exploit please contact a Neocron Gamemaster for assistance. No one will be banned arbitrarily or without due cause.

List of Prohibited In-Game Actions

The following actions are in violation of the Neocron 2 rules of conduct (RoC) and will result in a warning and possibly a temporary ban of the Neocron 2 account:

  • Levelling sympathy or soullight on non-mission related NPCs

  • Spamming public in-game chat channels.

  • Using third party macro tools.

  • Pushing dead bodies or players who are away from the keyboard (afk) beyond zone boundaries so as to deny resurrection or to enable the killing of an afk player.

  • Pushing dead bodies into boxes/trees (or any other place that renders them untargetable)

  • Dropping turrets in boxes/trees (or any other place that renders them untargetable ) or on outpost walls. Placing turrets on OP roofs is forbidden too.

  • Copying another runner's name with the express purpose of gaining personal advantage or harassing the original.

  • LE'd runners refusing to leave a dungeon (thus preventing it from being reset).

  • Levelling constitution by repeatedly damaging yourself (either directly or indirectly)

  • Levelling constitution by repeatedly and purposely getting yourself killed by CopBots or S.T.O.R.M Bots.

  • Shooting enemies from a spot where you can not take any damage (known as safespots).

This list will be continuously updated and is therefore subject to change at any time. Ignorance of these rules is not an acceptable defence.
